A little bit about me.

My name is Simon Porter and I've been living in Poland since 2006. I spent one year learning the Polish language in Krakow and then I worked as an English Language teacher for a year. I subsequently moved to Warsaw where I now live and have been teaching ever since.

I've settled down in Warsaw with my wife & I'm here for the long term, so I consider myself 'part' of Poland. I see the teaching market in Poland as very promising and believe there's lots of scope for teaching and having a fun and challenging lifestyle doing so. They say you'll never be rich in Poland and partly that is correct. However, with a little bit of common sense and experience you can live very comfortably.

In 2008 I set up my own company called English Language Solutions or ENGLAS for short. Having seen a gap in the market for specialist English language tuition and significant modernisation of the traditional approaches to teaching I developed a new methodology which helps my students to develop their English skills faster whilst developing confidence and belief in themselves.

In my time here in Poland I've helped people close to me and through the internet via forums who have wanted to come and teach in Poland. I'm regularly asked through my ENGLAS website about advice and getting work in Poland. This website was set up as a 'one-stop shop' with the answers to the basic questions and queries that people have. I hope you find it useful.

Yours in teaching,
Simon
